Ameek bindra

Co-President

Ameek is a fourth-year studying Data Science & Human Biology on a pre-medical track. She is originally from New Jersey but doesn’t miss the cold weather at all. Ameek’s favorite SSA events are the Kirtan Nights, Gurudwara trips, and playing frisbee on Memorial Glade.

Noor bains

Co-President

Noor is a third-year majoring in Nutritional Sciences with a focus on Toxicology, and is on the pre-dental track. Noor’s favorite thing about SSA is the community! In fact, she met her best friends through SSA during her first semester at Cal. She is originally from Texas but is loving her time on the West Coast.

Harman gakhal

Sangat Director

Harman is a fourth-year double majoring in Legal Studies and Sociology with a minor in Race and Law. Her hometown is Los Banos which is a small town in the Central Valley. She loves being able to be a part of the larger Sikh/Punjabi community on campus!

Komal badesha

Sangat Director

Komal is a second-year double majoring in Psychology and American Studies, and she is from Los Angeles. A fun fact about Komal is she was born in California, but moved to Punjab and lived there for five years!

Kavn is a third year double majoring in Public Health and Nutritional Sciences, and he is from Hanford, CA. A fun fact about Kavn is he has the same birthday as his mum!

Gurashish khangura

Seva Director

Gurashish is one of the Seva Co-Directors this year. She is a third year Public Health major from Ione, CA. A fun fact about Gurashish is she has one younger brother and two older sisters.

Guramrit ghoman

Itihaas Director

Guramrit is from Yuba City, California. He is a first year and intends to major in business. During his free time he likes to play Golf.

Prabhleen Kaur

Simran Director

Prabhleen Kaur is a first year from LA county intending to major in Data Science and is pre-health. She is looking forward to further building a Sikh community on campus through SSA and her favorite events are Kirtan Nights!

Mandip

Viohaar Director

Mandip is a fourth year double majoring in Political Science and Public Policy, and she is from Merced, CA. She joined SSA to build a relationship with the community on campus, and to help create opportunities for Punjabi/Sikh students at Cal as Viohaar director.

Itihaas Director

Teghpreet is a Political Science major with a minor in Political Economics. He is from Riverside, California and a fun fact about Teghpreet is that he enjoys writing poetry in his free time.

Harjot gakhal

Simran Director

Harjot Kaur is a first year intending on majoring in Psychology and minoring in Human Rights and ‘Political, Philosophy, and Law.’ She is from Gridley, CA (a small town close to Yuba City). Harjot joined SSA to connect with the Sikh community at Cal, and a fun fact about her is that she was seen in the movie “Mitti Wajaan Maardi!”

Bhawanjot MAnn

Punjabi Sabyachaar Director

Bhawanjot is a third year Public Health major from Fresno, California. He joined SSA his freshman year, and his favorite part about SSA has been the friendships he has made along the way. A fun fact about Bhawanjot is his favorite number is 23.

Punjabi Sabyachaar Director

Shubhpreet is from Modesto, CA and is a second year molecular and cell biology major. She joined SSA to educate herself and others on Sikh history. A fun fact about Shubhpreet is she has been in Punjabi music videos!

Amarpreet Kaur

Itihaas Director

Amarpreet Kaur is a senior from West Sacramento, CA who studies Social Welfare and Public Policy. She joined SSA to find a sense of belonging at such a large institution. She grew up in a very traditional Punjabi-Sikh household and joining SSA helped her connect with her roots and culture that she holds very close to her.

Nirmol kaur

Nirmol is a fourth-year Data science major from Mexico! She has been a member of SSA during all four years she has been at Cal, and loves meeting new Sikh/Punjabi people on campus.
